8-11 Media notes

Media committee had a quick meeting after GA last night, and at the meeting we added some new admins.

Kathy S will now be an admin for the OSD FB group, and the @OccupySD twitter account

Ben Cossel will also be an admin of the FB group, as well as this website and the info@sandiegooccupy.org account

And that's it!

Website Update!

Hello, my darlings. In preparation for the Trans-Pacific Partnership talks and the struggle to bring the whole idea to a screeching halt, I've been doing a bit of work on the site. First, you may have noticed the new TPP banner atop the front page. If you don't see it, hit F5 to reload the front page! I know a lot of folks will be leaving town to visit the occupy summit in Philly, but all those staying in Sunny San Diego this coming week really need to get involved in opposing this "free trade" touted by the Trans-Pacific Partnership and its corporate lackies. Vamos, compañeros. Get o

Website Update for Occupy Bloggers

Attention all Occupy Bloggers

Early in the week, your humble website administrator was alerted that bloggers wish they could upload PDF files for upcoming events but could find no apparent methods to do so. Solved! A new 'File Attachment' field has been added to the Blog Post content type, which permits TXT and PDF files to be attached to new blog posts. As always, report all bugs via the website contact form!

Boring Website Update

Updates have been performed on the sandiegooccupy.org website. These consisted of security updates to various modules (calendar, date, media, ctools) and a core update to Drupal 7.14 (from 7.12). Most of these were strictly security patches and should not change the end-user experience. Also, major kudos to Will J. for hacking up a front-page twitter block!

Livestream

We have updated the Livestream section of our website and added 2 more streams to it. Which other ones should we add?

Website Update: Spam-B-Gone

Hello, OSD. Tim again, popping in to deliver a little good news and cheer.

As most of you are probably aware, the website sees upwards of five new spam accounts every day and up to the same number of failed attempts to create spam accounts. This problem may see its demise today.

Spammy, Spam, Spam, Spam

We are constantly working on deleting spam. If there is spam, we'll get rid of it. If we miss anything please contact us, or comment on the spam thread, and when we see it we'll delete it right away.

Also, we are working on implementing an extra security measure before a user creates an account to help eliminate the spammers all-together. This website is a constant work in progress, so we're going to run into a few issues, but we will get through them.

Peace and POL all around,

Will J

Website Update

Hey everyone,

So today's big feature addition is the embedding of the Occupy San Diego Livestream player into the website. You can visit it at any time by using the 'Livestream' link in the Main Menu. Note that Livestream's player is a little funny -- if you click the large Play button in the center of the video, a new window/tab will open taking you straight to Livestream, while clicking the play button at the bottom of the player will allow you to watch right from our site.
