Thanks Chris, the whole TPP is a new thing for me and I find myself learning a whole bunch of new stuff.

Here are some articles/videos which I found regarding the TPP, basically these guys are ape shit going after more natural resources, privatizing them, exploting the land, and wanting control of the whole market (and that is just the start of it).

Yes, it sounds like a repeat of WTO which energized many activists back in 1999. Maybe like NAFTA too but I'm ignorant of NAFTA. WTO forced nations that wished to be included roll back their environmental regulations. Down and dirty. I'm afraid the the "secret" part of the talks will do somewhat the same again. I was "asleep" during the WTO mess. Actvist San Diego has its roots in Pat Barnes getting involved protesting WTO. Some folks care more about local issues, some more about intenational problems like TPP. I need to learn more and Occupy the media with this stuff. BTW, David's idea is one long overdue. It's another means of outreach if not to recruit new Occupiers to wake up some open minds out there.

So it looks like the kickoff meeting ("Direct Stakeholder Engagement event") is going to be at that monstrosity, the Bayfront Hilton southeast of the Convention Center on Harbor Drive.
